We sat down with Carlos and Jimmy and asked them a few questions... This is what they had to say.
What is your favourite thing about heading on tour with the band?
"Getting to travel to so many different places all around the world and meeting such interesting characters, that we probably wouldn't get the opportunity to otherwise, has always been one of our most loved parts about touring. Being able to connect with fans all over the world and seeing them sing along with us at shows still blows my mind. That and the food. Damn, we've been able to sample some great food and booze on our travels, which never goes unappreciated in our camp."
What's your best memory to date in New Zealand?
"Christchurch - our fans there have always been so passionate and welcoming since the very first time we ever toured there. No matter what adversities they've faced in recent years they always turn up with such energy and love for life. We've always had such a good time there and I know I'll always carry many fond memories of that part of NZ in particular."
What would you be doing right now, if it wasn’t for your music career?
"Just slinging pizzas in our shop back home on the Gold Coast, "Franc Juniors". Come in for a slice!"
Who would you each say are the main artists who have shaped who you are today?
"I think in terms of bands that have shaped the sound of Bootleg there are many, but the main ones would probably be Gorillaz, Sublime, Talking Heads and just about anything Dr Dre has been involved with."
Do you have any rituals to get you pumped before going on stage?
"Gotta have a few of our favourite cocktails before showtime. Tequila and pineapple juice is the pick of the bunch for us. Must be good tequila though, none of that crap with the little sombrero hat on it. Carlos likes to do a few stretches from time to time too."
